Life with an older cousin...

When you are just a little guy and you have a cousin 4 months older than you, life takes on a whole new meaning sometimes. I think I could do an entire blog post with photos of Amelia beating up on, sitting on or otherwise squashing Drew. But she loves him so much - all we hear is "Dew?" He has learned her name to..."Melia?" or some version thereof. They are going to be great fun together for a long time to come!

We have gotten over pneumonia and have another ear infection. Of course, that has morphed into sinus drainage and he's starting to cough again. Mommy is going to be very unhappy if we start this whole mess all over again!

Yes...we're still here...

Sorry for the absence of updates. Drew has been sick since before we went on our cruise and was finally diagnosed this past Friday with pneumonia. Yep - actual pneumonia! It's not the microplasia/viral/walking pneumonia that is going around (that they tested him for twice). It's the full-blown, x-ray the lungs and say "wow - he has pneumonia!" So we are doing breathing treatments 4 times a day and fighting a horrible antibiotic that he hates. I promise to post some photos of the past month (because I have some really cute ones) as soon as I can get my act together!

Daddy's Old Rocking Chair

Drew wanted to show his Grandma how he can get in and out of his rocking chair. Unfortunately, on the evening we had the camera out, he managed to slide out of it (thanks to ever present "bankie") and spend time on the floor contemplating whether to get back in. He went for brute force and decided to turn it over on its side. There are days I would give everything I have to know what is going on inside his little brain!

Just call him Linus...

Drew requires a name change - he is now Linus. He has become enamoured with his blanket ("bankie") and has taken to walking around the house with it at all hours of the day. You can put it back in his crib and he will go get it. If it is out of reach, he cries for it (mournfully) until you come help. It could have something to do with the horrible cold he has right now, but I'm dreading breaking him of this one!

A Big Birthday!

Well, we've had a busy few weeks...sorry for the lack of new posts! Mommy hit a milestone last week and turned 30! Mommy and Daddy went on a cruise with some good friends to celebrate while Drew stayed home with Nana and Grandaddy. When we returned, we had a fun family celebration and watched the Super Bowl. It Only Took 14 Months 2 Weeks & 2 Days...

But Drew is finally walking! When I dropped Drew at preschool this morning, his teachers asked if he was walking. I said "not really" and then when I picked him up they said "you better change your answer" -he took off down the hall while I was putting on his jacket! He showed off his new skills this evening by walking to me from across the family room and then turning and making a lap around the downstairs! I guess another phase has officially ended...

Yes, the photos are a bit blury as he moved quickly and I'm still learning to use our new camera.

Tonight Drew enjoyed his first burrito (in a very messy fashion) and then showed off his spoon skills with a bowl of applesauce ("apples"). Yes, he went straight to the bathtub after this meal!
