Today Allen got his ear tubes. We opted to do his procedure at the satellite surgery center instead of Children's Hospital and it was a great decision. We arrived at 6:30 this morning, checked in and waited for about 25 minutes. Then, once we were back in preop, things flew. They filled out his paperwork, we talked to the doctor and anesthesiologist, and then he was ready to go. It wasn't 10 minutes before the doctor was back out telling us everything went great. Luckily, his ears were not currently infected and there was no fluid to drain so we don't have to do ear drops. Yipee! We went back to the waiting area and less than 10 minutes later they came and got us and we went to postop to see him. He was fussing a little, but nothing that being transferred to mommy and a bottle couldn't remedy. We were walking out the doors at 8:00! It was wonderful!
He is now sleeping and hopefully will rest most of today (though when we got home he was ready to play!) and will be back to normal tomorrow!
I forgot to mention that Drew got to spend the night last night with Jay and Amelia. He was so excited to have a sleepover and for it to be special, "just for me!" Thanks so much to Uncle Mike and Aunt Celeste for letting him stay over and keeping him this morning!

I'm glad everything went well!
SO glad surgery went well! Hope recovery is super fast! =)
Praise the Lord! Glad everything went so smoothly for Allen. I prayed for you all about 3am on Tuesday morning as I was nursing Judson! Isaac has tonsils and adenoids out August 29th and we opted for a surgery center too b/c of how backed up the hospitals get. Hope we have a great an equally smooth experience although I am a little nervous about recovery from tonsil surgery?!
Take care-
Lindsay
